Upholstery

Do you have a favorite piece of furniture, Grandma’s old rocker or that pair of wing chairs that don’t match anything any more? Here’s your chance to recover them.

Class meets once a week, either on a Tuesday or Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

In class you will learn to recover furniture from the bottom up. This includes stabilizing the frame if necessary, installing webbing, tying springs, cutting and sewing fabric, and then attaching it to the frame making the necessary cuts.

First time students are not allowed to bring sofas for their project.

If you take instruction well & are motivated you can usually get a chair done in one 14-week session.

Then if you are still motivated, after finishing your first chair, you will be allowed to recover a sofa or loveseat if you wish.

This is a popular class. Many students get the “Recycle Bug” and return to class, session after session. They reupholster their Thrift Store or curbside finds.

It’s a wonderful feeling, making something old new again!
