Limited funding has often meant that professional community development has been involved in short-term projects or low-status auxiliary services. A modernized community development approach, better resourced through new and regenerated programs, is needed. Therefore, the Racine Family YMCA needs your support to build organizational capacity, increase its presence, and assume or solidify position in communities of need in Racine County.
Corporations, Individuals, Social/Civic and Faith-based Organizations can support Community Development by:
- Participating in the Racine Family YMCA’s philanthropic opportunities (i.e., volunteerism)
- Helping the network of groups and organizations cooperate and gain collective strength
- Helping public authorities, professional agencies and the business sector understand the dynamics of community life, to broker their support and help them deliver their own services in ways which better meet the needs of communities.
